Tips to help you:

Success Awaits - below are 5 tips to help you get started with revision.  »

There are ings you need to now when starting to revise, these are:

  1. Always remeber when revising you need to make sure that you have, a break, at least, every half an hour. Another way in which you could make sure that your concentration is to change the subject you are revising every two breaks.
  2. Before the exam preporation begins you need to make sure that leading up to the exams you eat and drink and healthy diet, as much oily fish as you can stomach. The omega3 in the fish is a  proven way of helping improve consentrtation, and therefore making it easier for you to focus on what you are revising.
  3. Work out what type of learner you are: Visual, Audio and Kinesthetic. (At the bottom of the page is a table showing ways in which you can make revising easier by matching the revising methods to your way of learning).
  4. one of my favorite tips is that if you are stuggling to get motiivated, stop at school, talk to your teacher, do something about it, NEVER leave it until last minute. Cramming only works for a very small minority of people but dont leave it until 2 ssaays before the exam to find out, these exams are too important for that.
  5. AND FINALLY THE MOST IMPORTANT TIP - have fun whilist doing it and if you dont understand dont let it get worse, do something about it, but dont panic.

REVISION IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST PARTS OF EXAMS REMEBER TO KEEP CALM WHEN GOING INTOT HE EXAMS AND SOME TEACHERS WOULD TELL YOU TO READ THE PAPER FIRST ,THEN DO THE WORK, OR START FROM THE BACK BECUSE THEY ARE THE HARDEST QUESTION, I DONT BELIEVE THAT THIS GOOD, BUT ONE TIP I DO KNOW IS BEFORE GOING INTO THE FINAL EXAM TIME YOURSELF ON PRACTISE PAPERS AND IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND SOMETHING LEAVE IT AND GO BACK AT THE END.

REMEMEBR

"FAIL TO PREPARE, PREPARE TO FAIL"

Welcome to my website, on this page you will find all the things you need to do well in your exams and maybe, even make it fun.

Kinesthetic

The following are some things that kinaesthetic learners can do when revising to keep them concentrating on the subject.

·          Chew – if allowed chew gum while revising this will give you the motion which you need to help u learn.

·          Colour – possible highlight section of revision or colourful posters around the house etc...

·          Jitter – although it may annoy some of us, a slight twitch or tap can be that all important method of helping you do the revision.

·          Type – type up the work you are revising.

·          Walk – read whilst working around – or do circuit revision ( have several stations with different subjects at each station – randomly placed around you revision area, and walk to each station and read the revision out load whilst walking to the next station to get the next set of work).

·          Write – re-write the work; make posters, and booklets or even spider diagrams to revise from.

·          ORRRR.... the most odd one yet , a yoyo, i know it sounds weird but it has been proven that some people work better and stay more concentrated when yo-yoing it may not work for you – but you may have a laugh while trying which is always an advantage.

Audio

The following are some things that Audio learners can do when revising to keep them concentrating on the subject.

·          Discuss – discuss the subject with somebody close to you and bounce ideas off each other.

·          Debate – subjects such as R.S/R.E are good for this type of learning method.

·          Listen – listen to tapes while working, for example listen to French while doing homework, or in spare time, etc.... or even just listen to your favourite sound this may just give you that extra boost.

·          Read – read out load – read to somebody have a group of people and read to each other take it in turn to read the material.

·          Record – record your teacher, teaching the lesson or record your revision notes, if you don’t like the sound of your own voice listen to somebody else saying it and if you do then its all the more helpful, because you will be hearing over and over.

·          Re-say – re-say key words of the subject or re-say the definitions of the key words etc...

·          Watch – although you may think this is for visual learners you would be wrong, because some people remember images by relating them to a sound, this can be done with revision.

Visual

The following are some things that Visual learners can do when revising to keep them concentrating on the subject.

·          Black and white – not all but some visual learners learn best from monochromatic revision sources, this is simple, just read the black and white work.

·          Colour- this is for people who are the opposite to the learners who like to read monochrome, highlight useful things or colour any work, make posters and place them around your revision area.

·          Computer screen – revise from the websites provided above or type up revision note.

·          Pictures – this is for the learner who relates images to words- relate them to diagrams, AS MANY AS POSSIBLE FOR EACH SUBJECT.

·          Sketch – which is like relating them to diagrams, but in this case you will be drawing them yourself.

·          Text – change the type of font you work in – start with footlight MT light and move onto Algerian - underline things etc....

·          Watch – My personal opinion is that this is the best excuse ever, watch documentaries and/or record lessons.
